Here are some checkpoints:
✅ Sump Pump
One of the first checks on your sump pump should be to make sure it has power and is functioning. You will also want to ensure your discharge pipe is clear so it is able to discharge rainwater away from your home’s foundation.
If you cannot test your sump pump operation or something doesn’t look right, call a licensed pro to inspect and test your system, and ask about WIFI battery back up systems that tells you when there might be a problem!
✅ Surge Protection
New homes require whole home surge protection when they are built now. If your home is older than 3 years old, you may not have surge protection installed.
Whole home surge protection keeps your electrical devices safe in your home - including your heating and cooling system, appliances, and all electronics. A properly installed whole home surge protector should be clearly marked on your electrical panel.
If you do not know if you have surge protection, an electrician can inspect your electrical system and provide options if you are not protected.
✅ Whole Home Generator
If you have a whole home generator, make sure it is clear of any debris outside. It is important to have these units checked annually to ensure its functionality is ready to perform when you need it most!
